Work Environment

This is a hybrid-eligible position, where Monday through Wednesday would be working in one of our offices, with Thursday and Friday eligible for work-from-home days. Office locations include: Reno (NV), Monterey (CA), Roseville (CA), Bakersfield (CA), Phoenix (AZ), and Spokane (WA).

Job Overview

The Customer Manager serves as the primary owner and steward of customer relationships within an assigned industry Practice alignment. Unlike traditional insurance roles that are organized around specific products or lines of business, the Customer Manager is responsible for understanding and managing the overall needs of the customer and ensuring that CIG delivers a coordinated, comprehensive solution to support customer success.

This role develops deep expertise in the assigned customer segment, including the operational, financial, regulatory, and risk-related challenges customers face. The Customer Manager works across the organization to align insurance products, risk management services, loss control resources, claims insights, technology solutions, and other value-added services to address customer needs and improve outcomes.

The Customer Manager serves as the voice of the customer within the organization, helping ensure strategic decisions, product offerings, and service capabilities remain aligned with customer expectations and emerging market needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRM, or other insurance/risk management designation preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in P&C insurance: underwriting, product management, customer relationship management, risk management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage strategic customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance products, risk management principles, and customer service strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $91,500.00 - $152,500.00

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
