Work Environment

This is a hybrid eligible position within the Actuary team. CIG is a west coast-based organization, and this position will be working from our Reno, NV. office.

Job Overview

The Corporate Strategy Analyst in our newly established Strategy & Planning function. This dynamic role places you at the heart of our strategic transformation, where you will drive innovation, fuel growth, and redefine success in the fast-paced property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry. As a key player reporting directly to our C-Suite, you will work together with senior leadership to craft and execute the company strategy. You will deliver actionable insights through industry analysis, competitive research, internal performance data, and financial modeling while actively monitoring and advancing our executive strategic plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Market & Competitive Analysis – Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, competitor strategies, and industry developments to inform strategic planning and identify emerging trends and growth opportunities. Utilize various analytical techniques and tools to interpret complex data sets and extract meaningful insights.
  • Strategic Analysis & Reporting – Analyze financial, operational, and customer data to evaluate business performance and inform strategic decisions. Develop reports to communicate insights to leadership.
  • Strategic Planning – Support the development of long-term business strategies, including product development, market expansion, and pricing strategies, by providing data-driven recommendations.
  • Scenario Modeling – Build financial and operational models to evaluate potential strategies or partnerships. Assess risks and opportunities under various market conditions. Identify potential risks and opportunities and make recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and finance teams to align strategic initiatives with operational capabilities and customer needs.
  • Innovation & Technology – Identify opportunities to leverage technology, data analytics, and Insurtech solutions to enhance business processes and customer experiences.
  • Presentation & Communication – Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, summarizing findings, strategies, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Regulatory Awareness – Stay informed of regulatory changes and their potential impact on the P&C insurance industry to ensure strategies remain compliant and competitive.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in strategy, consulting, or finance, preferably within the P&C insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in Excel to execute financial modeling and forecasting.
  • SQL, Tableau, and Power BI skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with P&C insurance metrics (e.g., loss ratios, combined ratios, premium growth).
  • Understanding of P&C insurance products, underwriting processes, and market dynamics.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving business outcomes.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary range: $75,902 - $125,239

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
