Work Environment & Format

The Claim Representative I role is a hybrid eligible role, in our Bakersfield California location. This is one of our newer locations, great culture, and atmosphere and a casual dress environment. This is a great place to start your career with CIG!

Job Overview

Under general supervision, responsible for obtaining and maintaining essential information in order to handle Non-Injury Auto claims. May conduct investigations on assigned cases based on policy and accident details to confirm coverage and damages owed. Responsible for managing rental coverage and settling physical damage coverage based upon approved estimates and/or total loss evaluation. Requires close coordination with material damage and subrogation specialists.

Requirements

  • High school diploma plus 1-3 years of related customer service experience or applicable insurance knowledge.
  • Must demonstrate strong customer service focus, a proficient understanding and use of basic policy/contract coverage (including regulatory/policy differences, legal liability, and general policy coverage) and be able to recognize questionable coverage/contract situations which necessitate supervisory involvement.
  • General understanding of overall claim operations and key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and keyboard shortcuts is desired.

Salary Range: $33,506-$55,389

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
