Work Environment & Format

The Agency Education Specialist role is a hybrid eligible position out of our Reno, NV, or Roseville, CA, offices

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Agency Education Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the professional development of independent insurance agents through effective training programs. Additionally, the specialist will collaborate with other CIG departments to continuously improve training and seek different topics & subjects of focus. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about education and training within the insurance industry. The Agency Education Specialist will play an integral role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of agency personnel, driving the overall success of the agency network and the company’s business objectives. This role will ensure that CIG’s services and resources provide solutions to our clients’ needs and supports their eff­orts to control their long-term net cost of insurance. This role will advocate through recommending CIG products to agents to drive growth, client retention, and profitability

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This individual will work with other leaders from CIG departments to develop curriculum and specific modules to advance CIG products and services and will deploy these trainings with agencies. The training program will consist of three different areas outlined below. The Specialist will build, manage and create the following content.

Producer Development

  • Responsible for building an education program designed to bring seasoned agency producers to the next level
  • Indoctrinate them to our product offerings from all 3 lines of business
  • Create relationships dedicated to the services of one another to help achieve goals

Agency Training:

  • Responsible for building a training program of new processes within CIG. Will travel to teach our agencies of these new programs
  • This position will strive to offer courses that meet accreditation standards and align with state licensing requirements. However, the need may arise to develop non-accredited courses to present a CIG training topic.
  • Build and plan to insert CIG specific key learnings into all training topics and materials.
  • Collaborate with CIG personnel to promote available classes and sessions to agency personnel, ensuring optimal attendance and engagement.
  • Conduct in-person as well as virtual training sessions, traveling to regional locations as needed to deliver educational content.
  • Track and report on attendance, participation, and feedback to ensure the effectiveness and continuous improvement of courses.

Onboarding (New agency appointments) Training:

  • Develop and deploy a consistent approach for new agency onboarding and CIG introduction.
  • Lead the onboarding training efforts for newly appointed agencies, ensuring they are effectively introduced to company systems, products, and processes.
  • Develop onboarding training materials and resources, such as guides, presentations, and Learning modules.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both CIG and industry changes and trends, regulatory changes, and licensing requirements to ensure all training programs are relevant and compliant.
  • Support the development and execution of training-related initiatives and projects as required by leadership.
  • Contribute to the creation of reports, training materials, and other documentation as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field (e.g., Insurance, Education, or Business).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a training or instructional role.
  • Knowledge of state licensing requirements, continuing education processes, and insurance industry standards.
  • Proven experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs, particularly within an insurance context.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and goals are met.
  • Ability to travel regionally as required to deliver in-person training sessions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and motivate adult learners.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with developing presentations. Able to utilize technology tools, systems, and platforms used in training, including virtual training tools.
  • The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has a passion for educating others in a fast-paced, dynamic insurance environment.

Work Environment:

  • Regional travel requires in-person training and agency support.
  • Flexible Hybrid work environment. Mon-Wed to work in a CIG office (unless traveling for business related meetings).
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate training schedules across time zones.

Salary Range: $85,284 - $140,718

The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as benefits and bonus programs.
